Northern Mexico Standing up!

Every Christmas we make a pilgrimage to Mexico.   Its a time to see friends, family and decompress from the good ole USA.  Life is just a bit slower down south.  This year will be focused on Stand Up Paddling.  The kayaks are staying home and we are going in search of class III rivers and some Pacific Ocean swells.
Our first stop will be in the state of Durango
Canyon view
Twenty kilometers of canyon lie before us.  One or two nights of camping and millions of stars to keep us company.
The canyon is on the RAMSAR list of internationally important wetlands.  In the heart of the desert this river canyon has 1400 year old Montezuma Bald Cypress trees and over 200 species of birds.

Stay tuned for more in the coming months.  Get ready for the new 2013 lineup of inflatable SUP boards from NRS.
